Classical Minds Institute and Competition, part of the Texas Music Festival: We have an all Texas faculty this year, professors representing many of the great universities and colleges throughout the state: Adam Holzman, Isaac Bustos, Chad Ibison, Jay Kacherski, Mark Anthony Cruz, Enric Madriguera, Jonathan Dotson, Jeremías García (flamenco), Marc Garvin, Rachel Loss-Cutler-Hull, and Valerie Hartzell (ok, so I'm a wannabee Texan) We have private lessons, master classes, technique classes, workshops such as a flamenco workshop with Jeremías García, lectures, 2 guitar orchestras, middle school program, evening concerts, 3 day competition, and vendors (Texas Guitar Gallery, Bendicht Tschannen, Aquiles Torres and hopefully a few more) Applications are due JUNE 2ND. All events are open to the public and we have many choices. Participants can choose to just attend the evening concerts and/or audit an afternoon of events (concert tickets and $15 day pass can be purchased through the UH box office: 713-743-3313). Our applications include 1 for ONLY the festival, 1 for ONLY the competition, 1 for BOTH the festival & competition, and 1 for the weekend package.
